Insurance Companies Are Out of Time
If your home was impacted by Hurricane Irma and you filed a claim, but you still have not heard from the Insurance Company, your claim may be ripe for suit. By Florida law, homeowner’s insurance companies have 90-days to make a coverage decision. If in those 90-days they neither denied your claim, nor afforded coverage to your claim, you may sue for improper delay.
Although we hope that the Insurance Companies pay their claims quickly in order to allow their homeowners time to restore them homes following a massive storm, unfortunately the insurance companies milk this 90-day period. Hurricane Irma hit Florida between September 9 through September 15. Now, the Insurance Companies are out of time.
